ABOUT WILLOW

I could sit here and write a factual piece on my life starting when I was born, all the way to where we are today, but I am not going to bother doing that. I am guessing you don't want facts about a person; you want to know what kind of person they are like. I am like me.

Have I been helpful? :)

I don't know where I am in my life right now, but I know where I would like to be, and I think that's all that matters. I remember in Art class back when I was in school our teacher would tell us that if we want to draw a straight line, we should look at where we want to end up on the page, not where we are going, that way, when you look back it will be smooth and as straight as it could have been. I know when I was learning to ride a motorbike our instructor would tell us that we should always look where we want to end up, not where we are right now, because if we keep looking at that tree directly in front of us, or if we keep looking at the ground when we're turning around, we will end up in that tree... or on that ground.

Life's like that don't you think? If you try and work out where we are now, well... what's the point? You'll probably end up disappointed. We should look at where we want to end up and just enjoy the breeze in our hair getting there. So... where do I want to end up?

Well... in a big beautiful house on a large (yet not so unmanageable) piece of land, surrounded by my beautiful family and friends. Waking up in the morning and looking at the sun rising across the sky. Getting my kids ready for school, organising their breakfast and lunches as they enthusiastically bound into the kitchen for another day in paradise. My GORGEOUS husband is getting ready for work. He owns his own building business and LOVES what he does, he's his own boss and can choose his own projects and charge his own fee. He is magnificent at what he does and he is silently proud of what he can accomplish. We all are. He goes off to work and I drop the kids off at school, come back home and do some housework, washing, cleaning, dancing to music. Mid morning I sit down to do the paperwork for yesterday's trading with my hubby’s business. I do the paperwork for him and enjoy working with figures and finding ways to help him get the best results from his hard work. This doesn't take too long, and once the washing is finished I throw it on the line and organise some lunch for myself... right now a nice ham and salad sandwich sounds delicious!

I volunteer in the afternoon to help with Red Cross or at the hospital visiting people, before I go to pick the kids up from school. I also run an animal rescue shelter from home, so the cuddle’s I give and receive from them is always a wonderful feeling. Once I have the kids back, we all sit down at the dining table and do our homework! I don't have homework naturally but I help where I can, and the kid’s love that I am involved in their work. They are finished in no time... as they say, time flies when you're having fun, and I grab something from the freezer for dinner so it can defrost and then it's PLAY TIME! The kids can do whatever they like until my hubby gets home and they usually do. Some days we take the horses out for a ride, other days we head down to the beach for a quick surf, or sometimes they even join me in my workouts! Some days we just laze around with some popcorn and a good movie! Every day is different.

I start getting dinner ready and hubby walks through the door, gives me a generous kiss on the lips and taps my bum as he walks off to have a shower. The kids get the table ready for dinner and by the time their Dad is back, it's all ready to go and we sit down and have a great family chat about how our days were. There is so much laughter and love around our dinner table; it's my favourite time of the day.

After dinner, the kids spend some time with Dad, showing him what they did in school and playing a game or two on the computer, or in the backyard with the animals, before the sun sets. When the sun goes down they get ready for bed and quieten down in their kid’s room to watch some TV or read a book before lights out.

This is my second favourite time of the day, getting to spend quality time with the guy I fell in love with back in the summer of 2008. We're the best of friends and enjoy each other’s company immensely, and we always fall in love again, every afternoon, more so than the day before. He helps me with the dishes and we get ourselves ready for bed so we can start the day all over again tomorrow, my third favourite time of the day... waking up to a new day. We sit outside and have a drink and watch the stars and just talk, we could talk each others ears off if it were possible, then I head off for a shower and he picks a movie and we snuggle up to watch it before falling asleep.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE every minute of my life and I am so grateful to be given everything I have, and all the love I have in my life is truly overwhelming.
